Comment RSSWe should all avoid using Use and Throw glasses for serving water and juices. Rather we should replace those with Steel tumbles. People call these as Disposable Glasses but these are non bio-degradable. I have attached the image.

I agree. A fascinating thing
Thu, 01/22/2009 - 10:03 — samdeedI agree. A fascinating thing that the railway minister of India instituted a couple of years ago was to use clay based cups for tea and coffee rather than using these plastic cups. Even if the clay based ups were just tossed with the trash the end result if they met with water over time would be mud. The only aspect that I see that would have been an issue was the production process (heat).
Yes, the same goes for

The basic question that I have found to be very powerful is - do I really have no choice but to use something disposable, rather than something re-usable like steel tumblers, porcelain mugs, glass cups, etc.. And if I have to use something disposable, can I at least use something that is made from renewable sources and has a good life-cycle after disposal, like compost? Also, if I am using something disposable, what is the complete impact -- and am I truly willing to live with that impact? We will find that in our daily lives, in the vast majority of cases, we can actually re-use without going through any trouble at all.
