THIS IDEA IS A SIMPLE ONE AND WOULD BENEFIT IN MANY DIFFERENT WAYS. WHY CANTCAN'T THE GOVERMENT BRING IN A NEW LAS TO SAY THAT EVERY NEW HOME HAS TO BE FITTED WITH A SOLAR PANEL. THIS WOULD NOT ONLY REDUCE THE AMOUNT OF CARBON EMITIONS USED BYTHE WORLD BUT IT WOULD ALSO SAVE MANY FAMILYS ALOT MONEY IN THE LONG TERM. IF YOU THINK ABOUT IT THE AVERAGE HOUSE PRICE IN THE UK IS APPROX £149.000 wITH ADDING A SOLAR PANAL WHEN PROPERTY WAS BUILD THE PROPERTY VALUE WOULD ONLY INCRESE BY ABOUT £3500 WHICH I THINK IS A SMALL PRICE TO PAY. IN THE UK ON AVERAGE WE ARE BUILDING ABOUT 50.000 NEW HOMES EVERY YEAR IF THIS HAPPENDHAPPENS WITH EVERY HOME WE WOULD MAKE A HUGE DENT IN OUR GLOBAL WARMING PROBLEM.

Great idea! However, research

Great idea! However, research shows that current solar panels are far less efficient than conventional insulation at cuttting heating bills (http://bit.ly/ctuiK). Also, the rate of improvement of current solar panels is also problematic - it's kinda like computers, in ten years or so, any solar panel bought now will seem pretty useless compared to the others on the market. Also, take a look at this - http://bit.ly/a6Zzds . When these get perfected, solar panel installation won't even need to be law - these are cheap, efficient, and work perfectly in cloudy weather and even at night. We just need to play the waiting game for a while.

Even if they do not build

Even if they do not build houses with solar panels they could orientate the roofs so that they face the right way for solar energy and they could drill an extra hole when piling houses so that this could be used for a heatpump.
