Technological Waste - The Search Engine

Comment RSSI had read that two searches (14g of CO2) on a serach engine was the same as boiling water in a kettle (15g of CO2). That is alarming since there are more searches performed every day than there are people boiling water on a kettle. The reason for this is that a serach engine will do a look-up on multiple servers simultaneously to get the best indexed results. A solution and potential money winner for any company would be to figure out a better and greener tech for doing internet searches. The company that could discover and implement would be king of search.
