Saving in airconditioning

Average: 5 (2 votes)

Each degree you turn down the heat saves 3 percent of heating costs, while each degree you raise the temperature of your air conditioner saves 3-4 percent of cooling costs. By changing the temperature by 2 degrees all year, you can save about 2,000 pounds of C02 a year.

Last Day of School/College

Average: 4 (2 votes)

The last day of college/school is approaching, do you think this is too crazy?

I find it so disgusting how many half used notebooks get tossed into the trash can or recycling bin at the end of the college/school year during locker clean outs. Even when they are recycled it takes energy to process the notebook paper to make new products. Anyway for those of you who agree with me I have an idea for you. I have done this for years and am trying to get the word out. Let me know if any of you have some other green ideas to share.

Receipts usage

Average: 5 (1 vote)

i think some places should ask you if you want a receipt before they print one. say you buy a coffee at a local coffee shop and the cashier hands you a receipt, what are you going to do with it? throw it away...right? its not like your going to return it and if you do it\'s going to be right away so he/she should remember you. if this idea could be could be introduced into restaurants, convenience stores, coffee shops or any place you don\'t need a receipts from, just imagine the paper we would save.
